Daily Journey

Estimated time to create a daily journey: 30 - 90 minutes

Once you have the communications strategy, then you can create a framework for your cadence across your most active social media channels. Following our value of consistency, this daily journey sets up an expectation for the citizen on a daily cadence. The framework below was inspired from the CDC: Crisis + Emergency Risk Communication guide, wellness methodologies, and management strategy. Consistency was one of our values, so we felt it was necessary for citizens to have a constant stream with an emotional arc that flows with their day. For example, we don't want to put bad news in the morning, unless it's breaking and necessary, and we want to the day on a high note with inspiration, motivation, or reopening plans to look at the future.

By 11:00 AM: COVID-19 Update | PSA reminder or new alert

Tone: We are your City, we are on this, and here is what you need to know right now.

By Noon: COVID-19 Update | Daily Data Update

Tone: We are your City, we are on this, and here is what you need to know right now.

By 2:00 PM: Business as usual in unusual times

Tone: We are your City, we are working for you, these services and resources are available.

By 3:00 PM: COVID-19 Support

Tone: We are your City, we are working for you, let’s help our community together.

By 5:00 PM: IF the Mayor or Governor held a Press Conference -- Coronavirus Update

Tone: Same guidance on media as morning announcements include significant quote announcements as applicable

If no Press Conference:

5:00 PM+: Activities or Wellness | Entertainment or Empowering

Tone: You know what you need to know from earlier, now we’re providing you with something to reflect upon or something to do to help you and our community get through this

6:00 PM: COVID-19 Game plan | Transformation

Tone: We are your City, we are working for you, let’s transform our city
