Human Resources Talent Work
The work of HR teams typically includes but is not limited to:
HR Strategy - providing oversight, advice and direction for workforce and succession planning, leadership development, strategic recruitment, data collection and analysis, and other initiatives as directed by the Presidential Management Agenda.
HR Policy - developing and ensuring compliance with personnel policies across the employee life cycle from recruitment and onboarding to separation, and occupational safety and health.
Recruiting and Hiring - classifying positions, providing advice and implementation support on recruitment strategies, coordinating to conduct job analysis and post job announcements, reviewing applications against minimum qualifications, issuing hiring certifications, overseeing offer and onboarding processes.
Learning and Development - conducting training and skills assessments, overseeing learning management system content and operations, consulting on training initiatives and developing individual development plans, tracking compliance against mandatory training requirements, offering coaching services.
Pay and Benefits - administering payroll and other bonus and incentive pay programs, administering benefit programs spanning health and wellness, retirement, leave, and telework.
Performance Management - advising on setting organizational, team and individual performance goals and administering periodic and end-of-year performance appraisal programs.
HR Information Systems - overseeing the configuration and performance of HR technology platforms.
Executive Resources - developing and managing programs for executive level staff, and political appointees.
Employee and Labor Relations - providing support regarding employee performance issues, and for labor relations matters when it is necessary to coordinate and negotiate with government employee unions.
