Step 4: Share Key Findings and Training Plan

Overview

Once you’ve identified the gaps, and the training solutions you’ll use to close these gaps, you can share findings and the final training plan with your stakeholders.

Training Plan

A training plan is a structured document that outlines the objectives, strategies, and activities designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of employees within an organization. It details the timeline, resources needed, and assessment methods to ensure effective skill acquisition and professional growth.

Talk to your HR partners to see if they have any training plans documented or you can refer to and re-use like this example from CalHR.

Seek Continuous Feedback and Stay Current

Establishing feedback loops with employees is critical for gathering input on the effectiveness of your training offerings. The insights that you gather on an ongoing basis will allow you to improve your trainings and ensure that employees are participating and finding value in these efforts.

Feedback methods

This feedback can be collected through employee pulse surveys, 1:1 meetings between managers and their direct reports, and post-training satisfaction surveys.

Shifting factors

Organizational priorities, individual team member goals, industry trends, and training philosophies are constantly evolving, which impacts short and long term training needs. Individual leaders and managers may feel overwhelmed with trying to stay current, so it's important to remind them that the Leadership Team and Learning & Development function of your organization and/or HR are there to help.
