Launch Overview

Turn your priorities into action by launching a digital service team that fits your organization’s needs, capacity, and constraints

From alignment to action

By this point, you have assessed your current state, gathered input from stakeholders, and identified where to focus. Now it is time to put those decisions into practice.

Launching does not require perfect conditions or a fully staffed team. Start with a clear problem, a manageable scope, and an approach that reflects your organization’s current digital maturity. The goal is to deliver something useful, learn from the experience, and build from there.

What a successful launch requires

Every digital service team launch is different, but successful teams share a common foundation. Before launching, clearly define the team’s purpose, determine its initial scope, identify the roles it needs, establish ownership, engage key stakeholders, and consider how it can deliver value and grow over time.

Infographic titled "What a successful launch requires" presenting six core foundations for launching a digital service. The graphic is arranged as a 2-by-3 grid of illustrated cards using a clean blue color palette. The six foundations are: a clearly defined problem and intended outcomes (target icon), realistic scope based on available capacity and resources (checklist and chart icon), clear ownership and decision-making authority (team with leader icon), a cross-functional team with the capabilities needed to deliver (diverse team collaborating around a laptop), early and ongoing input from users and stakeholders (two people speaking with chat bubbles), and a plan for rollout, support, measurement, and improvement (rocket surrounded by planning and measurement icons). A subtle city skyline runs along the bottom of the graphic with a laptop launching a rocket, reinforcing the idea of successfully launching a digital service. The overall design uses simple icons, minimal text, and a clear layout to highlight the key ingredients for a successful launch.
