Since the updated SNAP PER provisions have been announced, states have been working on how to meet them. Since this fall, USDR has been sharing information based on its research.

In early 2026, USDR surveyed a group of more than 100 state leaders and found out the following:

States said in the survey that they are planning to make the following changes that align with USDR recommendations:

And 25% are making processing client-reported changes easier.
